Waiting for the Best!

My parents and I started looking for a car for me a few months ago.  Recently, I got more serious about it, and we went to different car lots, looking for one that wasn't too outrageously priced and was in good condition.

Well, it wasn't the easiest thing in the world to do.  A lot of times, one that was in my price range wasn't in very good condition, and the ones that were in good condition were pretty high-priced.

Several years ago, when I was about seven or eight, my parents had decided to get out of debt.  That was passed on to me. I decided that I really didn't want to go into debt for things.

So I told myself that I didn't want to go into debt for a car.  But I also didn't want a junky one either.  What could I do?

I decided to wait.  I put the situation in God's hands, asking Him to show my parents and I the right one to buy.  It was not easy.  I got discouraged after a little while, but my parents would always encourage me that, even if I didn't get a car right away, that God had the perfect one picked out for me.  And so I waited and waited.

Just recently, my dad heard about a car one of his coworker's friends was selling.  We heard some good things about the person and car, so we decided to check into it.  The person ended up being a strong Christian.  I test drove the car, which was a Chevy Tracker.  We learned that it had low mileage, nothing wrong with it, and a great affordable price. I decided that I wanted to buy it.

The next day, my dad and I went and picked up the car.  The best part was that I was able to pay cash for it!  It is debt-free!

God is so good!  I waited for the right car to buy, so I could have it debt-free and in good condition, and God gave me the best!

You can do this too.  Whatever it is that you're waiting on, whether a car, a job, a good friendship, anything- you can put it into God's hands.  Let Him take hold of it and trust Him!  It might take some time, but Matthew 7:9 says, "Ask and it will be given to you...."

Be strong while you are waiting for the best!
